2. What data we process and where we obtain it
We primarily obtain personal data directly from you when you submit the contact form or send us an email.
Depending on the content of your message, we may process in particular:
- first and last name,
- email address,
- telephone number, if you provide it,
- the content of your message and information that you provide to us as part of the communication,
- data contained in subsequent email communication.
Please do not include special categories of personal data (for example, health data) in your message unless this is necessary and has been agreed with us in advance.
3. Why we process data and the legal basis
Handling an inquiry or request
We use the data so that we can respond to your inquiry, assess your request, clarify requirements and, where appropriate, prepare further steps leading to the conclusion of a contract. If you request steps prior to entering into a contract, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. For other communications, the legal basis may be our legitimate interest in handling and conducting business communication pursuant to Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Subsequent business communication and protection of rights
If a request is relevant or the communication relates to potential or completed business cooperation, we may also retain email communication for subsequent negotiations, documenting the course of the business relationship and, where necessary, for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims. Depending on the specific situation, the legal basis is performance of a contract, a legal obligation or legitimate interest pursuant to Article 6(1) GDPR.
Spam and irrelevant messages
We generally delete obviously irrelevant messages and spam without undue delay. We may delete ordinary inquiries that do not lead to further communication after they have been handled.
4. How long we retain data
We retain data only for as long as necessary for the relevant purpose; there is no single fixed retention period applicable to all messages:
- Ordinary inquiries: for the time necessary to handle them; if there is no reason to continue the communication, they may be deleted after the response.
- Relevant business requests and subsequent communication: for a period appropriate to the business negotiations and any protection of legal claims. The specific period depends on the nature and course of the case.
- Spam and obviously irrelevant messages: we generally delete them without undue delay.
If a legal regulation requires certain data to be retained, we retain it for the period specified by that regulation.
5. Who may have access to the data
Personal data may be accessed only by persons who need it for the purposes described above. To the extent necessary, data may also be processed by our contractual technical service providers, in particular the provider of web hosting and the email infrastructure we use to operate the website and deliver messages (WEDOS). Depending on the nature of the specific service and contractual arrangements, these providers may act as processors.
We may also disclose data to public authorities if required to do so by law or if this is necessary to protect our legal claims.
We do not sell personal data. Any transfer outside the European Economic Area would take place only in accordance with GDPR requirements; as part of the ordinary handling of a contact message, we do not intentionally carry out such transfers.
6. Cookies and technical data about website operation
The MIQI website currently does not intentionally use tools for analytical tracking of visitors or marketing profiling, such as Google Analytics 4. This does not in itself exclude the processing of technical data that may arise during the ordinary operation of the web server, such as security or operational logs.
The specific use of technical cookies and the scope of server logs also depend on the configuration of the website and hosting service. If the website were to start using analytical or marketing cookies or similar technologies that require consent, we would update the information on the website and obtain the appropriate consent before activating them.
7. Your rights
Under the conditions set out by the GDPR, you have in particular the right to:
- access your personal data and information about its processing;
- rectification of inaccurate data or completion of incomplete data;
- erasure where the conditions under the GDPR are met;
- restriction of processing in the cases provided for by the GDPR;
- object to processing based on legitimate interest;
- data portability where the conditions under the GDPR are met;
- lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
The exercise of a particular right depends on the legal basis and circumstances of the processing. For example, erasure may not be possible where further retention is necessary to comply with a legal obligation or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
You may send a request to info@miqi.cz or by post to the company’s registered office. We respond to requests within the time limits set by the GDPR, generally within one month. In justified cases, this period may be extended in accordance with the GDPR.
8. Supervisory authority
If you believe that the processing of your personal data violates applicable legal requirements, you may lodge a complaint with:
